Explore ConfigOS MPO’s Feature – ScheduleMX
Written by Jamie McCoard, Development Manager
What is MPO’s ScheduleMX Feature?
ScheduleMX is MPO’s intelligent scheduling feature designed to automate endpoint compliance tasks—like scanning, remediation, and reporting—on your terms. Whether you’re working around maintenance windows or avoiding peak traffic times, ScheduleMX ensures your endpoints stay secure and compliant without manual intervention.
Why Use MPO’s ScheduleMX?
Gone are the days of manually retrieving policy results. With schedule profiles, you can automate scans and remediations based on a set timetable or whenever an endpoint is powered on. You can also define if job results should be sent, reducing communication with the Commander when not needed.
This smart scheduling not only cuts down on network traffic and storage use, but also keeps your environment in check with frequent, automatic remediation. The result? Less hassle, more compliance confidence.
Usage of MPO’s Schedule Profiles
To use ScheduleMX, users must have either the “Can Edit Schedule Profile” or “Administrator” permission.
Once authorized, navigate to Settings > Manage Schedule Profiles to begin.

Above is showing examples of common Schedule Profiles configurations.
Create a Schedule Profile
Right-click in the left-hand Schedule Profiles panel and select “Add”.

- Enter a descriptive Name for the profile—this will be used when assigning it to infrastructure groups.
- Click “Add Trigger” to define when the profile should activate—must have at least 1 or more Triggers.

There are 2 types of Trigger Events available:
- On Schedule
- On Shield Startup
On Schedule offers flexible scheduling for Scan or Remediate jobs, allowing you to set intervals and frequencies for continuous, automated execution. The delay setting is optional and helps with balancing out network traffic on a high number of endpoints using this schedule profile.

On Shield Startup will trigger the Scan or Remediation job when the Shield service comes online. Optionally, if the Run Immediately is turned on, the job will trigger when the Shield gets the updated profile.

Both trigger types allow you to send results to the Commander either immediately (if connected) or upon reconnection.
Save the desired profile and create new ones as needed.
Tip: Use the right-click context menu to add, edit, or delete profiles. If a profile is in use, a warning will appear before deletion.
Use the Schedule Profile
Now that we have our profile created the next step is to assign it to an infrastructure group for immediate use by the group’s endpoints. Users will need the permission of “Edit Group/Endpoint” or “Administrator”.
- Go to Manage Groups and Endpoints from the splash page.
- Select the target group from the infrastructure tree.
- Click the Edit (pencil) icon.
- In the Continuous Monitoring section:
- Toggle “Override”.
- Toggle “Enabled”.
- Select your desired Schedule Profile from the dropdown.

Click the green checkmark to save. The profile will now be deployed to all connected Shield endpoints inheriting settings from this group.
Tip: For multiple groups using the same profile, consider creating a parent group with the schedule applied.
Conclusion
With ScheduleMX, you can ‘set it and forget it’ when it comes to endpoint policy compliance. It continuously monitors, automatically remediates, and generates reports—all aligned with your company’s schedule. Say goodbye to manual checks and hello to effortless automation.
